Pastor’s Report:

Our Leadership Board held its first-ever meeting as the official governing board for North Scottsdale United Methodist Church.  Though it got to be a bit long (nearly 2.5 hours!), we covered a lot of important, introductory ground.  Most importantly, the Board adopted its first set of Governing Principles – the permission-giving policies, procedures, and practices that protect and allow the ministry of our church to function on a day-to-day basis within healthy boundaries.  This is meant to be a living document that guides our church under the new Simplified Accountable Structure of governance that we recently adopted, while faithfully adhering to The United Methodist Church’s Book of Disciplines (BOD).  These Guiding Principles will undergo revision, addition, and editing as we move forward, but they essentially provide a framework from which our leaders can operate, carrying out the mission and vision of our church. I remain grateful for the willingness and work of our Leadership Board.
